John Graves Simcoe
We welcome to our branch anyone with an interest in history, especially the Loyalist era. To our members, we offer a meetings program with interesting speakers, display tables of historical and loyalist items, and opportunities for discussion, networking and fellowship. Each year, Governor Simcoe Branch publishes four issues of its newsletter, "The Simcoe Loyalist," and leads or participates in a number of events, which often involve the larger Toronto Heritage Community. The Governor Simcoe Branch is a proud member of the Toronto Historical Association.
By joining the Governor Simcoe branch, one becomes a member of its parent organization, the United Empire Loyalist Association of Canada. The UELAC publishes the Loyalist Gazette twice each year, in summer and fall. You will receive this too with your membership.
The current fees for membership in Gov. Simcoe Branch are:
Organizations, associations, institutions etc. which wish to support the Loyalists though the Gov. Simcoe Branch may become a "Supporting Organization" (no voting privileges) for $55/yr.
The membership is for the calendar year, but for members joining after July 1, the fees are halved.
For more information about membership and to join, please contact the Membership Chair.
Once a member, anyone with Loyalist ancestry can prove that ancestry genealogically by applying for a certificate which attests to that fact. For more information, read Proving Loyalist Descent.
