Loyalist Lineage

Documenting your Loyalist lineage from one generation to the next can often involve a fair amount of genealogical research.

Acceptable proofs of lineal descent that link one generation to the next might include:

• Birth, baptism, marriage and death certificates that have names of parents
• Census records that connect parents to children
• Copies of land petitions or grants to Loyalists and their sons or daughters
• Wills that demonstrate a family relationship
• Church or cemetery records that demonstrate a family relationship
• Vital statistics registrations that show family connections
• Dated newspaper articles that demonstrate family relationships.

The Branch genealogist is able to provide assistance (to members) while you work on your lineage.  Please note, you must be a member in good standing of the Branch to gain access to this service that is entirely voluntary.  Members also provide research help to each other.
