Family History : Son of Loyalist John Ryckman (of Barton) and Eunice Ward.
Family Genealogy : Great great grandson of Albert Janse Ryckman, Capt., & Mayor of Albany 1702-3). He had a brewery on the east side of Broadway nr s. corner of Hudson & Broadway streets that became the property of Pieter Bronck). His own grandson married a descendant of Jean Baptiste Rousseaux, a native interpreter for Joseph Brant (See Dictionary of Canadian Biography on-line).
