Family History :

David Daley was s/o John Daley b 1712 in County Cork, Ireland and wife Mary Diggin, b. 1713 Leinster Province, Ireland, who arrived in York Maine in 1735. John Daley served with other York residents during the Wars against the French, as a private under Capt. Ichabod Goodwin, suffering defeat at Ticonderoga.

David and his wife Mehitable removed to Penobscot, with others from York and his brother-in-law, Jonathan Stover. He, his father John, and brother John Jr, appear on a list of petitioners for land in Majabaagadoose (Castine) in 1763, having served as "soldiers in his Majesties Service".

By 1783, they appear in Penobscot Loyalist lists for grants to St Andrews. By 1806, his son Joseph was of Red Head, Saint John. No further info in Joseph's siblings or parents after 1785 in St Andrews.

Family Genealogy : David's son Joseph m. Abigail Hammond, d/o another Loyalist.
