John Dimond Private soldier. Born in Fishkill Parish of Dutchess County [later of Philipstown just south of Fishkill]. Was member of Capt. Peter Ruttan Company. He is age 21 and served 3 years. The document is signed by James Rogers the 24th of Dec. 1783. James Rogers was brother to Robert Rodgers, Rogers Rangers. Rodgers Rangers were Natives who were backwoods fighters during the French and Indian War.
