Biography : Lt. Atkinson settled in Kingston Twp where he received 700 acres of land grants, with others lands added as the years went by:
lots 6 and 17 in the 1st concession
lot 10 in the 2nd concession, and
lot 3 in the 7th concession.
Lt. William Atkinson, his sister Ann Atkinson Graham and brother Thomas Atkinson were born in or near Pickering, Yorkshire, England. From the will of William Atkinson of Kingston, dated 1805: Brother Thomas Atkinson and his son, Robert, were living in Pickering, Yorkshire, Eng., in 1805, where they were couriers. William and wife Mary Atkinson, having no issue, left their property to brother Thomas and nephew Robert Atkinson and to Robert and Ann (Atkinson) Graham's three sons (Robert, William and Thomas Graham).
